Gloria L. “June” “Nicky” Wachenschwanz, 85, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away July 25, 2015 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, The Plains, Ohio. Gloria was born June 5, 1930 in Lancaster, Ohio to Eva Jones. She formerly worked at Sylvania in Buchtel, Met-Par in Nelsonville, and Bob King’s in Nelsonville. Surviving are her son, Charles (Brenda) Wachenschwanz, V of Nelsonville; daughters, Charlene Jacobs and Brenda Tolliver, both of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Ryan (Katie) McGuire, Kristina McGuire, Charles (Teresa Maynard) Wachenshwanz, VI, Dr. Jeremy (Alyssa Butler) Wachenschwanz; and great-grandchildren, Chase and Cade Wachenschwanz, Trevis Taggart, and Aiden, Colin, and Camie McGuire. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Wachenschwanz, IV; son, Ronald Wachenschwanz; daughter, Sabrina Wachenschwanz; granddaughter, Katrina McGuire Taggart; son-in-law, Darrow Tolliver; and grandmother, Minnie Woods, who raised her. Funeral services were held 11:00 am Thursday July 30, 2015 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Burial was in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Calling hours were observed 9-11 am on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church or the Oak Grove Wesleyan Church.
