Joan Louise Harris, 86, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away on May 19, 2016, at Bridge Hospice, Findley, Ohio. Joan was born on October 13, 1929 in Monday, Ohio to David and Maggie Christian. She was a graduate of Carbon Hill High School; member of First Christian Church of Carbon Hill; and retired from Ohio University in Mansfield. Surviving are her daughter, Pamela (Mike) Greeno; granddaughter, Jennifer Jackson; grandsons, Christopher (Katie) Martin and Eric (Adair) Pittman; great-grandchildren, Lauren Gruber, Abbigail Jackson, Brenden Martin, and Dominic Pittman; step-granddaughter Faith Browde; special nephew, Jimmy (Debbie) Barber; and sisters, Betty (Bill) Allen of Jeffersonville, and Kay (Herbert) Campbell of Carbon Hill. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rolland Harris, who passed away March 8, 2014; son, Rolland Harris; brothers, Leonard and Charles Christian; and sisters, Lorena Hemsley, Mary Ann Hemsley and Hazel (Joe) Burch . Funeral services were held 11:00 am Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
