Mary Helen Kieffer, 73, of Murray City, Ohio passed away October 23, 2016 at her residence. Mary was born March 13, 1943 in Jacksonville, Ohio to Alvin and Edna Malone. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Leon Pearl Kieffer, whom she married March 25, 1963; children, Scott (Charla)Kieffer of Murray City, Paula (David) Kennard of Nelsonville, Angela Thompson of Nelsonville, Lisa (Roger) Lyons of Nelsonville, and Rick (Debbie) Kieffer of Columbus; grandchildren, Tiffany (Damien) Schmersal, Emily, Adam, and Evan Kennard, Nicole (Zach) Phillips, and Tristan and Avery Kieffer; step-grandchildren, Rodney, Mary, Bryson, Nikki, Abbi, Andrew, Kylen, and Kayla; great-grandchildren; very special great-granddaughter, Leah Grace Phillips; siblings, Dora Campbell of Jacksonville, Ruth Kierns of Bishopville, and Alvin (Debbie) Malone of Jacksonville; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers-in-law, Jim Campbell and Jim Kierns. Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Brown Funeral Home in Murray City, Ohio with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, Murray City, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
