Ruth A. Ratliff, 54, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away July 22, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Ruth was born February 24, 1962 in Moxahala, Ohio. She formerly worked at Anchor Hocking; and operated Hard Times Towing in New Lexington, with her husband. Surviving are her children, Millisa Ratliff of Nelsonville, Jamie Skidmore of Nelsonville, Dustin Ratliff of Nelsonville, Mike Ratliff of McConnellsville, and Marcie Denney; grandchildren, Logan, Damen, Mason, Alexis, Taylor, Megan, Brandon, Emmy, Breanna, Alex, Alissa, Haley, Jake, and Dalton; sister, Rose Mehl of Nelsonville; and brother, John Mehl of Glouster. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Mehl; mother, Willowbe Craig; husbands, Mark Ratliff, and Jerry Pettit; son, Brian Pettit; sister, Peggy Blosser; brothers, Mike and Dick Mehl; grandchildren, Domonic and Conner Skidmore; and family member, Elwood North. Funeral services were Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio, with Michael Moler officiating. Burial was in South Fork Cemetery, Oakfield, Ohio. Calling hours were held on Sunday from 3-6 pm at the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
