Steven “Steve” Foster Evans, age 67, of Logan, Ohio, passed away December 21, 2022, at OSU Medical Center, Columbus Ohio.
Steve was born April 21, 1955, in Logan, Ohio to Foster Richard and Mary Margaret Evans. Steve enjoyed traveling in his camper and going to the beach. He never knew a stranger and talked with everyone. However, most of all, he loved spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren, especially going to their sporting events.
Surviving are wife of 47 years, Cathy Evans; children, Stephanie (Scott) Smart and Suzanna (Josh) Hinton; grandchildren, Wyatt (Kayla) Smart, Lucas (Kristen) Smart, Tanner (Sarah) Smart, Jacob Smart, Emma Hinton, Ella Hinton, Liam Hinton, and Eva Hinton; great-grandchildren, Braylon Lanning, Xavier Miller, Emmett Smart, Maisie Smart, Waylon Smart, “Smart” baby boy on the way, and Winston Smart; sisters, Sandra (Joe) Wyckoff and Shelby Swyers; brother, Michael “Mick” McGuire; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Steve was preceded in death by parents, Foster and Margaret Evans; mother and father in laws, Virginia and Max Valkinburg; and brother, Jim McGuire.
Funeral services were held at 6:00 P.M., Monday December 26, 2022, at the Freedom Memorial Church, Logan, Ohio with pastor Iris Conrad officiating. Cremation followed the services.
Calling hours were observed 2 – 6 P.M. on Monday December 26, 2022, at the church.
