Albert J. Winchell Jr., 68, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away July 13, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Albert was born September 30, 1947 in Logan, Ohio to Albert J. and Aileen Winchell. He was a US Army and Marine Corps veteran, who served in the Vietnam War; and was a self-employed mechanic. Surviving are his sons, Albert D. Winchell of Nelsonville and Jeremy (Amandah) Winchell of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Brett, Seth, Aileen, Chris, Megan, Destiny and Jremy; great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Jaxon; step-children, David Gambrel, Jeneza Gambrel, Buster Gambrel, Dovie Loring, Karen Alberry, Roger Gambrel; step-great-grandchildren, Rachel, Ashlee, Bryan, Josh, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Matthew and Jonathan; brothers, Robert (Vicki Wolf) Winchell of Doanville and Tom Winchell of Nelsonville; nephews Jeffrey Winchell and Bobby Winchell; and many more family and friends. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Winchell; brothers, Ruben and Don; and step-children, Fay Mathena and Jerry Gambrel. Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Tuesday July 19, 2016 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial was in Alexander Cemetery, Albany, Ohio, where Military Graveside services were conducted by the Combined Color Guard. Calling hours were observed Monday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
