Rodney H. Wilson, 89, of Nelsonville, Ohio, formerly of Murray City, passed away May 12, 2017 at his residence. Rodney was born August 15, 1927 in Murray City, Ohio to Clifford and Sarah Wilson. He was a 1945 graduate of Murray City High School. Rodney retired from Western & Southern Insurance after 30 years. He coached little league baseball and basketball in Murray City; was the timekeeper at York and Nelsonville York basketball games for many years; played independent baseball, basketball, and softball in the area; attended the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church; and was a Ward Township trustee for 16 years. Surviving are son, Mike (Loretta) Wilson of Nelsonville; daughters, Susan (Dean) Cavey of Champaign, Illinois, and Linda (Craig) Myers of Dresden; grandchildren, Eric (Gina) Wilson of Logan, Kyle (Wendy) Wilson of Logan, Jill (Bill) Hobbs of Champaign, Illinois, Jessica (Wally) Mlynarski of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer (Ryan) Bradford of Dresden, Sarah (Andrew) Herbert of Blacklick, Ben McDonald of Pickerington, and Katherine McDonald of Dresden; great-grandchildren, Cody Wilson, Brendan Wilson, Tucker Wilson, Jenna Wilson, Owen Hobbs, Charlie Hobbs, Mallory Hobbs, Johnny Ross, Lucy Bradford, Ben Bradford, Michael Herbert, Patrick Herbert, Mackenzie Mlynarski, Harper Mlynarski; special friend and companion Wanda Sabo; and caregivers and friends, Dallas & Shirley Cook of Murray City and Adajane Holdren of Nelsonville. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and wife Betty Lou Wilson; grandsons, Patrick McDonald and Jason Cavey; brother Roger; and sisters, Betty and Dorothy. Funeral services were held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Wesleyan Church Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio.
