Curtis Pooler Sr.

Curtis Pooler Sr. 74, of Chauncey, Ohio passed away May 11, 2015 at his residence in Chauncey, Ohio. Curtis was born July 3, 1940 in Middleport, Ohio to Daniel and Edith Pooler. Curtis was a U.S. Air Force Veteran; worked at the Logan Police Department, corrections and probations officer, private investigator, security guard for Globe Security and Mt. Carmel Hospital; instituted and operated the first recycling center in Machias, Maine; and was the town selectman for Machias, Maine. He enjoyed stamp collecting, coin collecting, fishing, painting, and was an avid astronomer. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ruth L. Pooler; daughters, Phyllis Jackson, Karen Eads, and Tammy Cox; son Curtis Pooler Jr.; grandchildren, Juanita Riebe, Earnie Eads, Sarah Jackson, Alex Eads, Dustin Cox, Joshua Tarr, and Miracle Pooler; great-grandchidlren, Zyanya Augustine, Lillian Tarr, Ava Tarr, and Delilah Riebe; brothers, Mike and Robert Pooler; sisters, Mary Freeman and June Windland; and cousin, Missy Coleman. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; son David Lee Pooler; brothers, Don and Ronnie Pooler; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Arrangements were by Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville. A special thanks goes to Appalachian Community Hospice.
