Gary Wayne Wood, 74, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away October 5, 2017 at his residence. Gary was born January 27, 1943 in Logan, Ohio to Charles W. and Edith R. Wood. He was a 1961 graduate of Union Furnace High School; U.S. Army veteran; after retiring from General Motors in 1993 Gary drove a truck for Don Pennington; and also was part owner of Wood Family Resturant. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, LaDonna Wood of Nelsonville; children, Bradley (Lesley) Wood of Logan and Malia Morris of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Ashley (J.D. Koffel) Wood, Benjamin Danforth, Bailee Wood, Rylee Morris, Brody Wood, and Claire Abraham; aunt Dr. Janice Covel of CA; brother-in-law Larry (Charlene) Barnhart of Logan; and sisters-in-law, Leta Davis of Coolville and Marlene Knight of Millfield. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother Chester Wood; and granddaughter Alyssa Wood. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Jim Mathias and Rev. Larry Swarts officiating. Burial was in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
