Harry Alfred Cooper Jr.

Harry Alfred Cooper Jr. 83, of Athens, Ohio passed away December 14, 2015 at Hickory Creek, The Plains, Ohio. Harry was born April 22, 1932 in Pataskala, Ohio to Harry A and Thelma Cooper. He was a Korean War Veteran; former member of the VFW and the Eagles in Jacksonville; and formerly worked at the Florentine Restaurant in Columbus. Surviving are sons, Allen, Clarence, Richard Cooper all of Columbus; daughter Lavonda Boyer of Columbus; 5 grandchildren; brother-in-law Edward Loudermilk Sr.; nephew Edward (Lela) Loudermilk Jr. of Millfield; nieces, Anita (Mike) Coffman and Penny Rapasky, Mary Richmond, and Robin (Richard) Harris all of Glouster; special friend Benny Bruce; and friends of Heritage Commons Apartments. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Loudermilk; and nephew Melvin Loudermilk. Funeral services were held 11:00 am Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Brown Funeral Home Murray City, Ohio. Burial was in Concord Cemetery, Jacksonville, Ohio, where Military Graveside services were conducted by the Combined Color Guard. Calling hours were observed Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
