June Powell, 79, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away April 1, 2015 at Logan Health Care Center, Logan, Ohio. June was born August 9, 1935 in Nelsonville to Chester William and Eunice Elizabeth Six. She was a graduate of Union Furnace High School; retired from William Brooks Shoe Co., retired from Connie McClain Realty; and a very active member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, where she served on the Administrative Board, and taught Sunday School and Junior Church. Surviving are her son, Tim (Gloria) Powell of Nelsonville; daughter, Judy (Fred) Adams of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Gabe (Sarah) Wanck of Galesburg,IL, Teige (Uriah) Fisk of Nelsonville, and Heather (Travis) McElfresh of The Plains; great-grandchildren, Taylor Fisk, Charlie Jo Fisk, Jaxie Fisk, MacKena and Ruger McElfresh, and Hudson Wanck; sister, Virginia May Jonas of Rockledge, FL; and brother, Chester (Lynn) Six of Wooster. June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe Powell, who passed away January 1, 2011; and 2 sisters, Mary Jane & Dorothy Elizabeth Skiver. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Wesleyan Church Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Monday, April 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Warren-Brown Funeral Home and Tuesday, April 7, 2015 one hour prior to the service at the church.
