Sherry Diane Newlun, 46, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away June 13, 2016 at The Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Sherry was born December 7, 1969 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Bobby and Linda Smathers. She loved bingo and Moutain Dew. Surviving are her husband, Bruce W. Newlun of Nelsonville; parents, Bobby and Linda Smathers of Buchtel; children, Lindsey (Chuck) Humphrey of Buchtel, Ashley Newlun of Logan, and Nathan Newlun of Buchtel; grandchildren, Noah Wilson, Colton Wilson, and Charlie Humphrey, all of Buchtel; siblings, Bobby (Allison) Smathers Jr. of Buchtel, Robby Smathers of Nelsonville, Scott Smathers of Rockbridge, Brian Smathers of Nelsonville, and Yvonne Perry of Nelsonville; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 10:00 am Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Ed True officiating. Burial was in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Friday, June 17, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
