William E. Seel, Sr.

William E Seel Sr. 84, of Little Hocking, Ohio passed away February 20, 2015 at Charleston Area Medical Center Charleston, WV. William was born October 29, 1930 in Haydenville, Ohio to Willard J. and Vivian E Seel. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict; retired from the Hocking County Highway Dept; life member of the Nelsonville VFW # 3467; liked C.B. Radios; loved boating; and was The Mayor of Wiskey Hollow. Surviving are his children, Robert E. Seel of Millfield, Nancy Graves of Athens, and William E. (Chris) Seel Jr. of Dallas, TX; sister, Brenda (Don) Dearing of Haydenville; step-children, Beverly (Dave) Shoemaker of Buchtel and Barbara (Shane) Mender of Dresden; grandchildren, Darl (Shannon) Seel of Buchtel, Bobbie Jean Loudner of Nelsonville, Tisha (Ben) Ogg of Logan, and Joie and Evan Bazell of Logan;  step-grandchildren, Ed (Christina) Venrick of Lancaster, Amy (Frank) Erb of Dallas, TX, Craig (Julie) Mender of Columbus, and Shancie (Seth) Jenkins of Powell; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; special friend Vivienne Spicer, who made his life happy in his later years; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Grace Stout of Long Bottom, Marlene & Dave Patton of Athens, Sheila & Mike Klinebriel of Logan, Chuck & Pat Robinette of Nelsonville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. William was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lorena Marie Robinette Seel, who passed away January 19, 1989; and second wife, Mary Eileen Levering Seel, who passed away February 15, 2006, sister & brother-in-law, Jean & Bill Ford; and step-son, Max Levering Jr. Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Wednesday February 25, 2015 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. David Shoemaker officiating. Burial was in Zion Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio where Military Graveside services were conducted by the Combined Color Guard. Calling hours were observed Monday 6-8 pm and Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
