Daisy Pauline Clifford

It is with heavy hearts the Clifford family announced the passing of Daisy Pauline Clifford (Smith-Reed), peacefully, in her 88th year, at Fairview Manor, Almonte Ontario, Canada. Daisy is survived by her grandson, Tyler Reed and daughter-in-law, Margaret Reed, both of Mobile, Alabama; and a sister, Grace Shaw of Columbus, Ohio. She is also survived by her step-children, Margaret McGregor, Janice MacCallum, and Brian, Michael, Allen, Stephen and Donald Clifford, and their families all of Canada. After becoming a part of the Clifford family, 30 years ago, Daisy shared in the joy of becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother to 27. Daisy was predeceased by her first husband, Bill Reed in 1966; her only son, John Reed; sister, Madge; and brothers, Alva and Ivan. Daisy joined the Ladies Auxiliary of the Nelsonville, VFW in 1948. She held offices in the 12th District, including President in 1957 and again in 1974; was elected to the office of State Guard; and elected State President, 1981-1982. Daisy was employed by the Nelsonville Children’s Centre and then retired from the Athens Mental Health Centre in 1985. Daisy married Brian in 1985 and began her new life, sharing time between Naples, Florida and Canada, for 20 years, and finally making Ontario, Canada her full time home until her death. Arrangements for her cremation were entrusted to Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada. Daisy traveled home to Logan, Ohio for her inurnment at Oak Grove Cemetery, where her final arrangements being entrusted to Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio. A private Graveside service was held in the Fall of 2015.
