Don Thompson

Don Thompson, 81, of Logan, Ohio passed away April 10, 2018 at Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio. Don was born September 3, 1936 in Greendale, Ohio to Rev. Jess and Minnie Thompson. He worked at Thompson Excavating, supervisor at Good Year, Don’s Grocery, drove a school bus for Starr-Washington Schools, and last, Riffle Shell. Surviving are his children, James Thompson of Union Furnace, Barb (Greg) Huston of Logan, Carla (Kevin) Dickerson of New Lexington, Deborah (Jeff) Thompson of Logan, and Ronald (Daphene) Thompson of Logan; step-children, James Blankenship of Columbus, Paul Cyrus of Lancaster, Roy (Diane Adkins) Blankenship of Circleville, and Penny (Tom) Hines of Marietta; grandchildren, Heather B. Davies, Joshua Tucker, Brian Tucker, Brandy L. Edgell, Shawn Tucker, Brittany Smith, Brandon Thompson, and Chelsea Harder; great-grandchildren, Harlow, Jesse, Aiden, Jagger, Jovie, Hunter, Faith, Paisley, Kayden, Bailey, Karley and Johnnathon; step-great-grandchild, Austin Culberston; and siblings, Wayne (Harriett) Thompson of Logan, and Betty Johnson of Logan. Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 43 years, Frieda Thompson, who died on December 26, 2013; twin step-daughters, Sheila Wolfinger and Sherry Rozier; and siblings, Clifford Thompson, Denver Thompson, Robert Thompson, Daisy Mount, Jessie Martin, Margrette James and Zelva Burtrum; and an infant brother, Stanley Thompson. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. King Kelly officiating. Burial was in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Friday, April 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations can be made to FairHoPe Hospice 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
