Jálynn Michelle Layton

Jálynn Michelle Layton, age 20, of Logan, Ohio, passed away July 31, 2021 due to motor vehicle accident.

Jálynn was born March 16, 2001 in Athens, Ohio to Charles Zachary Layton and Kristy Lynn Miller. Jálynn was always a free spirit who enjoyed music, camping, swimming, and being in the outdoors. Her passion was cosmetology and she proudly got certified from TriCounty. Afterward, Jálynn got the pleasure to work for Great Clips. Recently, she got to work with her mom at Logan Coatings before she passed. Her favorite place to get away to was the beach. Life for Jálynn was to hangout with friends and live it to the fullest. In her 20 years of life, she lived more than some do in their entire life. She always was so attentive to the people she loved and complimented them, even on the smallest things. Jálynn was an absolutely amazing person with a contagious smile, a joy to be around, and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are parents, Charles “Zach” Layton and Kristy Miller; sister, Kyleigh Layton, that Jálynn loved dearly; grandparents, Connie and James Dishong, Tim and Betsy Miller, and Beth and Gary Ray; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; fur babies, Tyson, Larry, and Mike; special friends, Derek Bolin, Casey Kiser and children Carter and baby Faye, Amber Berry, and Makiyah Martin and her son Owen; and so many amazing friends that loved and cherished her.

Jálynn was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ivan Martin-Johnson; and great grandparents, Doris Fick, Lenora Danielson, Walter Danielson, and Cecil “Gordon” Smith.

Calling hours were observed 1-4 pm on Sunday August 8, 2021.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM on Sunday August 8, 2021 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with pastor Jack Johnson of Whitehall Church of Nazarene officiating. Family and friends are welcome to tell a story or speak at the funeral service. Cremation will follow.
